At least MTL is telling you the era and the train to be modeled. it is the current "red" train. There are three now, red, blue, and gold. Chris, don't you have some photos you took of this train?

I'm just disapointed that the advertising car is a 40' Ice Reefer. Not exactly the best selection for car body to represent an advertising car, which from all the pictures I can find are based on passenger equipment. At least use an express reefer.

Well, I have to say that the "red train" definitely has my interest.  My expectation is that it will be priced significantly more (read "brass prices") than I want to spend on it, but it just seems like it would be a cool train to have, fits my era, etc.  It will stay on the radar screen for now.   8)

I saw the red train and took pics. I don't want to buy this set, but I really don't think MT is tooling up the whole train. I doubt they are tooling anything new so it won't be prototypical like they say it will.

Maybe I will be wrong and it still won't matter, but I just can trust MT to do something right. Especially if they can't tell us what they are doing in the first place.

This looks promising and not as bad as I though. Hopefully they will release one set every month so it wont be to bad on the wallet.
