I hope they aren't leaving N Scale as I like some of their kits.  I noticed they are blowing out their HO and O Scale stuff as well, so it may be just some winter cleaning.  A lot of their HO Scale cars are going for up to 60% off MSRP.

I picked up three of the 3-in-1 kits for $10 each.  Not a bad price for what you get.

Seems unlikely, as this is the one area in N scale that they seem to have fairly consistently done well since the 1990s.

With the big Walthers sale of late, I have picked up more than a dozen kits.

At these prices, it is hard to pass up.

While conspiracy-theorizing seems to be a national sport on the internet forums, the reality is that they are offering the same deals onn the modeular components and modular-based structures in HO. I don't know that it's just a fact that people don;t want to pay hundreds of dollars for a kit because they don't. BUT, more likely that LARGE structures just don't usually sell as well in any scale. They may have done better with that and the Empire tanning kits if they would have released them as a series over a period of time.

Heh heh heh...you think THOSE prices are good, a friend of mine gave me a crack at what was in their dealer flyer at 10% over cost,  so he would make a little something...

...so I now sit on $960 worth of steel mill structures that I figure they will never be re-running if they had to dump them so cheaply...now I just need a basement to get working on that dream layout...

Nope it's more capitalistic than that.... Word that I've been told is that they are selling off all the old stocks to introduce...higher prices. Basically if they sat on the old stock they'd lose money when introducing higher priced restocks. Out with the old, in with the new.
