If you like that downtown Baltimore stuff, you'll love what I have in my possession.  In the First and Second Quarter 2008 issues of The B&O Historical Society's magazine, "The Sentinel," there's articles on the B&O's rail operations along Pratt Street (with a track plan from Mt. Clare to President and Aliceanna Streets) and an article on the Municipal Harbor Belt Railroad (the line that ran down the Key Highway). Fascinating information and something I intentionally saved for future reference.  Some of the pictures are a real hoot.

I'll try to remember to bring these magazines on Friday for your perusal.

I have a 1948 map o' Baltimore that was produced by the Chamber of Commerce... it has every rail siding in the city, color coded by railroad, and numbered to a key.   Regrettably, I do not have a copy of the key... :-\  But it's all there.  The M&P, the Catonsville Branch, the Canton.  Very tasty.

I can have a black and white copy made... maybe.  It's pretty fragile.

Imagine a basement layout where you "stand in the water" and the Baltimore waterfront surrounds you on three sides...

That'd be pretty cool. Just have to figure out how to get that two-toned (blue and gray) diesel-powered, rubber-tired B&O switcher, DT-1, to run on DCC.

His notations aren't accurate.  Boston Street was PRR.  The B&O had some trackage over there, but not Boston Street.  President St. Station was a PC freight house as late as the early 70's.  It was PC that served Allied (Gregg, please correct me if I'm wrong... my recollection is from my perch high atop the Candler Bldg, where we would lunch while working summers there...)

Dammit.  You're going to make me scan that map, aren't you...

See the new thread in the Proto Photo section... wasn't sure where to put it...  And I was right... The B&O had a few tracks in Fells Point accessed by car float, otherwise the whole east side is PRR.

Y'all are trying to get me to model WWI era New Bern.  ACL, NS, several logging lines, including narrow gauge street running, a port, a whole slew of industries...plenty of action with lots of small steam.
