So then, as I was sorting through my photos I thought I would post some of my photos of Ashland VA, the place that I have been railfanning since I was six. :)

Here we have a northbound trash train rolling past the depot.


A southbound Amtrak is loading up passengers.


Another CSX northbound past the depot.


Northbound Amtrak


Southbound freight.


Northbound local.


Another train shoot by at night.


Now this is back 1999 when I was six and this was one my first time train watching. This and the next 1 photos were taken by my Dad.

My sister and some of her friends went to see Trout Fishing in America at a park in Ashland... quite near the RF&P...


The concert was great fun, and the musicians had quite a bit of fun competing with CSX as it expedited the nation's commerce...

Back in the 70's when I was taking Amtrak between Alexandria, VA and Charleston, SC there used to be a gentleman in Ashland who was wheelchair bound and waved at passing trains from his porch.  Think either Trains or Railroad mag did a piece on him.

I think I heard about and I have met many other train liking people Ashland. The railroad is still a very vital thing to the town.
