Con Cor 2-8-2 Locos for $99.99

 Con Cor is closing out the last of their Rivarossi Mikado 2-8-2 locomotives for juat $99.99 These are the final version with a much improved nice drive train. Only Undec locomotives are left. You can get them with either a vandy tender, standard USRA style tender or the long haul NKP Berk style tender. The locomotives all appear to have the GN /C&O style boiler front with air pumps mounted on. The sale is good untill February 28 or whenever stock runs out. Quite a bargin for a model that retailed for just over two hundred dollars a few years ago. As an owner of several of these newer version locomotives ,they run very nicely I just thought I would pass along the word incase anyone is interested, also having an extra as a parts source would be a good idea since Rivarossi is Kaput and parts are getting hard to find. Well seeing as how you can get a Kato mike for that much and I have pretty much gave up on ConCor...

And a Kia is cheaper than a Peterbuilt too. But what does that have to do with the other? Other than the wheel arrangement, the two have almost nothing in common. With it's faults and failings, the Con-Cor is much closer to some prototypes than the Kato is. I have seen good running, good pulling Con-Cor's, although I gladly admit it isn't as common as with Katos. If you like the Con-Cor, and have the option to test run it and return it if needed, I say go for it. It sounds like a fair price for them. I don't like whole wheat bread, myself, but if you do, and I know where there's a sale on it, I can tell you about it can't I? Trust me, I know times are tough and unsettled, but kick the dog, take a Valium, drink a six-pack and take it somewhere else!

  When there gone there gone since Rivarossi N is no longer, The last version runs very nicely,no I'am not trying to promote them, I just happen to own alot of their steamers , they were once the only game in town and the older ones were like a Crap Shoot Luck of the draw as to wheather or not you got a good one ,the Atlas ones even worse the motors melted down all the time,but not the final Con Cor Editions. Last year Con Cor being desperate for parts for Rivarossi Locos were actually offering a trade in deal your old running or no running Pacific or Mikado loco for one of ther over production run Foobie GS 4 Daylight locos in roads like PRR with a keystone boiler front and high headlight, UP with smoke deflectors and of course Rio Grande. I don't know if that offer still is on ,but I suspect not and most of the Fooboes are still in stock. Nate Goodman (Nato).
