Anybody going to Trainfest next weekend?

I plan on hitting hobby shops in Chicago on friday, Trainfest on saturday and railfanning Northern Illinois on Sunday and Monday.

Anybody else going?

Others will beat me to the punch Lou. I'm not going to beat a hasty retreat to the hotel to write up a report. I'll be lucky to get a report out Saturday night.

I'll be there along with the miNi Mod U Trak group layout. (which includes forum members Lashedup and Skibbe) We'll have a bigger and better layout this year. We now have enough modules for a complete loop and we all got more scenery finished. Here's a photo from our set up at Prototype Modelers in Naperville,Ill. last weekend. It was taken by Lashedup. That's the New Lisbon enginehouse which sits inside the wye at New Lisbon, Wisconsin. Still many details to add but it's looking good.

 Oh yeah, and thanks Kato for announcing the NW-2's in Milwaukee paint while the paint was still drying on my model. They picked the same number I used just to add insult to injury  I guess I can still buy the other number they will be doing.

Wow! If this layout isn't a draw, I don't know what is.  Alas it's not in the cards for me.

Sounds reaaly cool! But I wish I lived a few hundred miles closer to Chicago and was old enough to drive...Ah well. :'(

I'm in Milwaukee tonight and looking forward to tomorrow. Went down to Chicago with a buddy and hita few shops. Same story at all of them. Sales have gone off a cliff and they are having trouble getting people to pick-up their orders. Not good!

I seriously thought about taking the train up (overnight trip) and going to the show last minute.  The train was less than a plane ticket.  But at the end of the day I decided it wasn't worth 11 hours on trains for 8 hours at the show.  Someone take lots of pictures!
