European detail manufacturers show great promise

I'm bumping this old thread up because I've just found a goldmine of detail parts and vehicles from manufacturers I've never heard of (as well as a long, long list of familiar ones)... Lemke-Collection, Rietze, Brekina, Littke, Luft, Marks... the list goes on. Everything is of course European, but it doesn't matter for some passenger cars, busses and tractors; some trucks could be modified; and they have some utterly incredible N scale construction vehicles, like this crane:



Lots of etched brass detail items as well, including fences, carts, trash cans, etc. An unbelievable supply--they claim over 40,000 items in stock. Marks has some models of a short hood Mercedes Truck in their program. The originals of these trucks were also produced in the US for quite a time.

The Liebherr 1120 caught my eye since I love cranes, but $148. Ouch! The Kibri HO version is around $37. Other items were nice.

Yes, but the difference between Littke and Kibri is about the same difference between your bridges and an Atlas brigde.

However it costs about 120 bucks (incl. 19% VAT) ... and the postage stamps in Germany must be made of platinum ....

It is hand crafted cast. Marks advertises with a 150 single pieces for each model.

I drove one of those Mercedes trucks with a big 1000 gallon water tank and a four wheeled concrete saw on it when I worked for dad in college.  Slow as molasses with the water and big saw on it, but it would turn on a dime.
