N scale turnbuckles?

Does anyone make decent looking N scale turnbuckles like those used on the truss rods of older rolling stock?

If you can get your hands on some MDC Overland cars their truss rods look pretty good.  A cheaper but more chunky option would be Bachmann old timers.

Fine N Scale Products makes (or made?) a truss rod underframe
kit to fit the Micro-Trains 40' wood box cars. The kit came with
etched metal truss rods with turn buckles. This may be an expensive
way to get them though. IIRC the kit was something like 7 bucks.

Anyway, etched truss rods would be a great product for someone
to make...anyone..anyone?

Still too big; I've a 27' flat car under construction.  I think I'll go with some chain links I have left over from my last model ship.  That's what I did last time around.

So far materials for this project:
Basswood
Cherry
Steel
Glue
Copper
and now Gold.

Given how small they'd be, especially on a flat so short...  Any way a dab of thick ACC or epoxy could approximate a turnbuckle?  It may be worth a test shot...  I think if you could get a reasonably symmetrical dab and paint it the color of the truss rod, it would probably stand up to everything short of the 1200 dpi close-up photo.

Remember that caboose I had on your layout?  It had truss rods with single chain links for turnbuckles.
