Need some help from the resident SPFs on bridges

Ed, about eight or ten years ago I created a stone arch bridge that has lots of character using old Chooch tunnel portals and retaining walls (just as was suggested above). I heated the castings in boiling water to curve them, and after sanding all of the joints flat, bonded the parts together with CA. The bridge I modeled was abandoned, which explains its condition. The layout is gone, but I saved the bridge:

Yes, much appreciated. Nice to know "former work" is still worthwhile. The layout suffered the fate of a move. It was designed to be split into two sections and removed from the room, but there were two problems: first, I was a victim of "best laid plans" that weren't so well executed, and even though the layout split as planned, one section was still too big to get out of the room intact. The other problem was that I was moving to a small apartment that had no space for a layout that size. Now I'm working on a Z scale coffee table (http://jamesriverbranch.net/). It's fun, but it's just not the same...

BTW, great to see the return of Conrail 1285. I'd bookmarked that site a long time ago, then it disappeared. After two moves since the demise of the WR&N, I'm just now catching up on things.

That bridge is one of the things I was thinking of. Although not for this location. I think I need something about 50% the size. I was looking at the actual space last night, and I think one of the single track portals might be the ticket, or I may just end up going for something that's actually a real cut-stone (of course) culvert.

Those pics do help with two things though:
1. the color
2. the texture of the atlas bridges might be fine.

What's really unusual about that bridge is the "three" rail pipe fence. That was usually only used at stations and other locations where the public might have access to. Everywhere else they used "two" rail pipe fence.

I've now built up two 480 scale foot sections of two rail pipe fence for my Sherman's Creek bridge. Time to ballast next!

It was a busy area at one time so that may be the reason for the 3 poles. It was all steel mills here back then with the PRR Erie and P&LE/NYC all running right on the other side of the tracks

Orange is the PRR, Yellow = Erie, Blue = B&O, Green = NYC/P&LE Big black area used to be steel mills.

The arrow is the bridge in the photos. In this post card that bridge is right next to the tower (right side) and the pier in the river is the support right behind the tower:

Chris, your ex-PRR bridge is similar to one I snapped recently near Toms River, NJ. Not ex-PRR, but ex-CNJ, I believe.

BTW, Ed, the Chooch new-style single track portal measures 38 feet overall with an 18-foot wide opening.
