Went to the LHS today and got my B-mann B23.When I ordered I told the man which ever one he could get (CSX-Conrail).He got both so I could choose which ever one I wanted. The CSX ran like a dream crawled real slow wasn't all that noisey either. The Conrail was dead in the water,no matter what we did (till we pulled the shell) would get it to do anything.
Once we pulled the shell and started checking things over it was discoved that but touching the contacts on the circuit board it would run just fine. The only problem was the juice couldn't get there from the wheel sets.So that one is going back to the distributor.
I still couldn't make up my mind as to which one I wanted (if I chose the Conrail we were just going to swap sheels). So I chose it the only way I could. He tossed a quarter and I called it after deciding ome was heads the other tails.I noe have a rather nicely running Conrail B23-7 that will soon get CSX patched, and once the CSX unit is replaced and test run I will have that one too. ;D
(PS) yes I know the cab is flawed but I can live with that.
