Some good ideas there.  I have been contemplating an N scale version to run on Z gauge track.  (Think I'll skip the operator turning his head, though.)

But O scale on N gauge track would be  48/160 * 4'8-1/2 =  about 17" scale width track.  Is there even such a narrow gauge system that runs on track that narrow?  I would have thought On30, or 2-foot gauge, or something.  Does real life narrow gauge go that small?
Brilliant animation and engineering.  I'm not put off by the noise at all.

Mines usually had 18" gauge railroads.

I never thought of that!  Thanks for the tip.

There are other industrial systems with similarly narrow track. On9 is also a popular gauge with the micro-layout crowd.

On18 is exactly what Dave Meek is modeling on a portion of his Thunder Mesa layout when he builds O scale models to run on 9mm gauge track.  As noted above, useful for mine trackage.
