Nice!

It's funny, I just made one of these things for Kato connectors too.

I get tired of the apes in Freemo-N that can't figure out how to undo a simple rubber toggle band.  Maybe they can work these a little better.

Both versions are now up on printables.

I may be a bit dense here -- what is the purpose of this?   Storing the ends when not in use?

Yes exactly that. Keeps them tucked up into the frame work instead of dangling around and getting damaged.

Thanks.  Will have to print some up.  I wonder how well they will work with resin

Interesting. In NTRAK I use cable clamps to prevent the wiring from dangling during transport.  The extra cable length is per the NTRAK standard.  Does Freemo-N require shorter cables which will not dangle below the module bottom if the Power Pole connectors are inserted into the dummy socket on the bottom of the module?

I also hate dangling wires and the potential for damage to modules below in the stack if a pigtail gets loose.

On Modutrak, we have a one-foot jumper cable that plugs into both adjacent modules.  That way the pigtail is never hangling below the module framing and kept short and tight.

There is no written standard other than long enough to connect to the adjoining module. Mine are about a foot long. Which in theory gives about a total working length of 12 inches between modules since the end plate is 6 inches (as long as the next door module owner has a connector of about 12 inches).

One additional nice thing about this design is that the terminals inside the connector are kept free of debris and dust.

In case anyone wants the Kato version: https://www.tinkercad.com/things/1L5Y0Rm5zVI-dummy-kato-plug

Theres a reason railroads do something very similar with the MU cables.
