@mkearns The WM's had a few 70' RPOs. One was preserved in New Oxford Pa, which I measured, then 3d printed my own. To your point, the shorter overall length works well in scale.

I dont know the Ann Rutledge consists so I apologize.
Usually consists of 1 locomotive, F40PH, B32-8HW, P40/P42DC now a charger
3 Amfleets, 1 Horizon Cafe car or
3 Horizon coaches and an AmCafe
OR
2 Amfleets and a Horizon Cafe and vis versa.

last few years, you could have seen those consists with the addition of 3+ heritage diners or viewliner baggages Due to UP's axle count rule.

Today Charger, and the Venture cars.
OCCASIONALLY P42s... when the chargers die somewhere.....

The Hiawatha is another easily modeled consist.

90s':
P42/F40/B-32 at one end or both.  Cabbage unit toward the end of the 90's at one end.
Five Amtubes (four coaches, one diner - in the middle)
Amtubes at the ends, three Horizons in the middle (diner in the middle).

I ended up with a LL E8 in KCS in a lot buy, and decided to fins something to do with it, besides repainting.

Lifelike makes the E8, any 72' to 85' will work, alowell Smith has a 2 coach set currently, and the obs could be bashed from one of the Con-Cor obs. From what I have read, they didnt always run the observation.

I got some cars on the way. When I get the coaches, and get the baggage painted, I'll post some pictures

Digging this post up again, because frankly these trains are fun.

I finally got off my butt, and did a rough paint job on the baggage car I bought for KCs train 9/10. The baggage is just temporary, as I have ordered a proper baggage from Lowell smith, just waiting for it.




So now I'm going to add a couple more trains. So this is one I dug up from my childhood, this is the Amtrak Mount Rainier, Train 796, Circa 1992



Another super easy consist to model:

I will put one caveat on the consist in my picture. The sleeper is the wrong phase, as I do not have a phase 3 super liner sleeper yet. I use this one as they stand in, from my summer 2017 Coast Starlight consist
