Shasta Taverns, or what did I get?

Recently won these on eBay, and the look pretty nice. They are numbered 10316 and 7 which iirc is right for the Shasta Timberline Taverns, but these look factory painted, and I only know of Des Plaines kits. Thus what did I get?

Not sure what those are but the colors seem way off for SP Daylight.  They could be Centralia cars which were basically the kits glued together. The Kato set is painted with much brighter colors.  These look like almost maroon and dark yellow.

IM did a run of these in the past. I know because I had it on pre-order for a decade. It was a major disappointment as the colors were so far off of matching any other Daylight cars available.  The colors were ketchup and mustard and definitely not Daylight Red and Orange. After this debacle, I gave up modeling this train...

They are essentially a built-up version of that same Centralia kit.   Sold by Intermountain/Centralia.

There were also prepainted + lettered car sides/ ends - which I think are essentially Des Plaines parts custom painted- which were done by a company called Golden West Models.  The models in the OP photos could be examples of Golden West kits.  These were intended to be combined with an ALM core kit to produce a finished car without your having to paint or letter it.  Although one would need to be VERY careful gluing it together, as removing excess glue without marring the finish would be very difficult bordering on impossible.

AFAIK, these were only produced in the Daylight scheme (which has always bother me as a name, since the colors are more Dawn or Sunset), and in only a few body styles.  I have kits I acquired years ago - 2 labeled as "Daylight Coach" and 2 labeled "Daylight Shasta Coach".  Not sure what the difference is other than car numbers, as the sides on top look the same.

A word of warning, if you go looking for these... the kit numbering is quite confusing... for instance KIT # 2587 builds CAR # 2382,  KIT # 2982 builds CAR #2352

I had a couple of these painted sides meant to go on core kits. Those were painted correctly and matched well with Kato and built-up Centralia Shasta Daylight coaches. The tavern cars are the only ones that have the terrible paint colors ( similar to old ConCor).

Thanks for the replies folks. Now that it's been mentioned, the colours do remind me of the old concord set I have. When I next go to the storage unit, I'll grab a Kato car to compare and contrast, and try and get the in good lighting.
