Does anyone know of a good source for information on the connections for the Next18 when connecting auxiliary functions, capacitance, ground, etc.?  e.g. which wire is which?

Tim, the ESU Next18 pinout is shown inthe ESU decoder manual.

Go to https://www.esu.eu/en/downloads/instruction-manuals/digital-decoders/ and download the Instruction manual for LokSound 5 family. All the pinouts are in it
