Even though these don't fit into my 1947-1956 UP era, it's really good to see BLI doing it RIGHT in N-scale.
The models look fabulous...now all they need are tinted windows!
I've got a good friend who has both of these in Overland Brass, who ran his 18 car Overland Brass Excursion train (pulled by a custom painted and modernized A-B-A set of Kato E9's) on my layout last night. Especially nice and impressive to all present was the Overland Theater/Inspection car with its lit-up rear lights and tinted windows. BLI's offering looks verrry close to being just as detailed (except for the trucks...injection molded trucks just don't compare to investment-cast ones),,,but, non-tinted windows are pretty obvious when comparing the two.
Only things I didn't like about the brass train were its flickering 10,000 lumen dome lights and the four cars that had seriously narrow wheelsets and wouldn't make it through my tight NMRA compliant hand-laid turnouts.
However, the value of the Overland brass Theater/Inspection Car just went down a bit!
