With the kitchen installed, and now preparing for our vacation, I cleaned the basement for the first time since abandoning the camp kitchen I had in the basement for two years.

So for the first time, I can really see how the layout expansion will work.


This will be the west end, housing an engine terminal and a small yard.  The east end will be the existing HCD, somewhat modified to form the other end of the racetrack.

I think the kids are going to like the new place...

This fall should start getting really interesting.

Well.  That escalated quickly!



Acheived smooth east and westbound approaches to the turntable, and a through caboose track in one sell foop!



Of course when you make an omelette you have to break a few eggs.  At least if you know you can't make it to Mainline before closing time!

@Ed Kapuscinski you'll note that your Shinohara turnout has found a good home!
