A Con-Cor comeback

I also wonder what new management is in place. Jim Conway was there for the birth of N scale, but he also had a seriously flawed character. He may have built Con-Cor, but he also was the one who buried it.

Wasn't Con-Cor originally a partnership of Jim Conway (the CON-) and another person (COR)?

I always thought it was Con for Conway and Cor for Corporation.

I was hoping to get some  Con-Cor N scale replacement parts so I went to their website and it appears that not much has changed in one year since this thread was stated. I wonder if the new Con-Cor is  actually a viable company. I guess next I'll contact Blue Flag for spare parts.

Just a guess (assuming the parts manufacturing remains in China).... but I would imagine that getting a container of Chinese manufactured train parts that are assembled in Mexico across the southern US border is a LOT more difficult than it used to be.  Could be that their best laid plans are sitting in a customs warehouse, waiting on a big check to cover the tariffs.  A lot of small companies don't have 10-20% of their annual sales sitting in a bank vault to cover the tariffs on their incoming inventory.

And, for that matter, given that Con-cor still has Rapido couplers on most of what they have for sale on their website.... I wonder how long its been since they placed a big order with their Chinese suppliers, and where they would be in terms of priority.  The turnaround for product from initial order to arrival is often years, even for Atlas or Bachmann.

Back when the original Con-Cor was still in business I have, numerous times, ordered replacement parts (even for long out-of production models) I had good luck dealing with Con-Cor.

But here I wasn't specifically talking here about parts (even tho that was my reason for visiting the website). I was just commenting that in general, it seems like in a year no progress was made by the new owners to make Con-Cor an active manufacturer of (old and new models, including parts).
