A mystery part for Kato N NW2 loco

Was looking over the parts list when I encountered this: https://katousa.com/product/n-nw2-gear-set/  I have couple of the initial l run NW2s and this part does not look familiar at all.    Seems like a misidentified part (even though the packaging clearly describes it as N scale NW2).  This loco only has  gears and worm in the truck and then 2 gears at the motor. None look anything like that assembly.  Does anybody know what it is and where it goes?

Looks like the bottom of the trucks.

Yeah, you might be onto something - those trucks are quite unconventional. Makes sense. It's been a while since I took my NW2 trucks apart.

Left one is NW2.  More images at https://www.therailwire.net/forum/index.php?action=gallery;su=user;u=2700;cat=1269
