EMD GP30 – N&W



The high-hoods are here! This is the first time AZLhas released a high-hood GP30. Two road numbers are available:

62130-1 N&W GP30 522 High hood
62130-2 N&W GP30 530 High hood

The 2026 run of GP30s feature AZL’s 7mm motor, dual flywheels, prototype specific details, pre-installed pilot, upgraded PCB, directional controlled LED lighting, optional front truck with mounted coupler, blackened metal wheels, AutoLatch couplers and they come DCC ready.

GE C44-9W – UP – C&NW Transition Patch



This is a unique one. It represents the C&NW C44-9W during the UP transition:

The GE C44-9Ws feature AZL’s 7mm motor, dual flywheels, prototype specific details, separately applied grab irons, directional controlled LED lighting, ditch lights, optional front truck with mounted coupler, blackened metal wheels, AutoLatch couplers and they come DCC ready.

EMD F7A & F7B – D&RGW



We have an A&B set as well as separate A available:

Sante Fe Super Chief



AZL is offering a new set of ATSF Super Chief passenger sets. The sets come with eight passenger cars and slots for four EMD F7 locomotives. The cars in the set are:

I applaud the modularity of the bay window cars but... to anyone who owns them, are the panel lines that visible, or is it just the magnification?

Also, if it's not too late, you might NOT want those white wheel dots on there. They basically mean the car is only prototypically appropriate for about a 6-8 month window (I think).

I don't remember ever seeing a white wheel dot.  That meant it had the banned wheels, and they were to be replaced as soon as possible.  For most cars, that meant as soon as the car could be sent to a rip track for new wheels.

A yellow dot would be appropriate, as that meant the wheels were good, and I don't think anybody bothered to remove the dots unless the car was repainted.

Looks like they have it marked as an N-7-E.. (which it isn't..)..

 
The prototype is ID'd as an N7 (without the ' - '  ... But I think technically its an N7A based on the number series)

It's normally pretty easy to remove decoration from AZL rolling stock, so it should be pretty easy to delete the dot.

Or, solve with a yellow sharpie.

If I was modeling a time after the dots appeared I'd go the Sharpie route as well.

What about the Erie F3's that say EL on the B units only.

Maybe they had a photo of that number with the white dot.... and the photo I found was reported to be Jan 1978.. so just before the dot system started..

And CRHS has one with a white dot..


But Neither example I could find had roof walks .
