Removing paint on MTL weathered cars

Tried using Scalecoat on a recent MTL car w/ weathering, and no dice. Then tried alcohol. What is needed to remove the paint? It seems rather thickly applied.

Have you left it in a bath of ~90% alcohol for a few days?
I don't know what Kato uses, but I have had to leave their shells in a bath for about a week before the base layer was touched.

Yeah, my thoughts too.  Those cars are works of art.

If it involves the UV printed weathering, I'm not sure there is a solvent to remove it.

Im in agreement with everyone else.  Why strip the paint from one of these pieces of art, especially when its fairly easy to find a regular or undecorated version of the same car?

Why remove the paint?  Maybe the car was cheap, the body style is needed for a model, and the paint is too thick to paint over?

Isn't the weathering ink jet printed? But as others said, just find a car that isn't weathered and strip that one.

When it comes down to buying the car I want on eBay for $50+ (if even available) or buying a weathered one from HogTrainz for $27, I have to admit I don't have a six-figure income. The car is being cut-up to kitbash with another cut-up car so the paint needed to come off.
Actually, ScaleCoat will take off most of the paint, but I need to let the part soak for 24 hours.
