Here’s my recommendation for motors. You’ll definitely want a 12v. He doesn’t ship to the US now but Canada may be different. He also sells worms and bushings and can set you up with a 3x4 mod 3 worm that will match a Kato geared axle tube.
For track pickup I soldered wires to the axle strips then made a connection towards the middle of the chassis underneath so only one wire come up through on each side so yes, it has all wheel pickup.

Ha! Less sound and more likely just noise. That’s also miles above my pay grade.

Any experience with ISE CKT-DCCSA vs TCS KA-N1 capacitor setups in these micro models? Just wondering if one is better then the other, at least in this application.

It was great hanging out in Novi.
As far as ISE vs TCS they are virtually interchangeable and I have used many of each without a problem from either camp. Each has performed flawlessly.
They cost the same, are both readily available and have nearly identical footprint. The TCS may have the very slightest of advantage in that it’s slightly thinner having a capacitor on only one side of the pc board with the ISE having one on both sides. The TCS puts out 1000uF compared to 940uF of the ISE but it’s at a lower 10v so it’s a bit of apples and oranges thing. The electronics heads here would know way more about how that works than me.
With all that said, this monster has an ISE in it so it kind of throws the thinner dimension argument out the window.

I can’t recommend one over the other because they both just work and any performance difference is imperceptible.

With the boom tender outfitted, the Ohio project is complete.

Details added to the tender include a couple of tall cabinets for chokers, straps etc, a couple of gang boxes for clevises and chains, a clam bucket, a rack to store a two part block, some cribbing blocks, a Louisville stepladder and a couple blue cabinets for no other reason than I thought they looked cool.
