Nice cars, I have some from the first run. No road names I can use this time, although I'll probably pick up a Seaboard System car just because that's one of my favorite logos.

I saw Homeshops is doing similar cars in V&O in HO. Now THAT is something I'd love to get my hands on in N.

Would V&O management have bought old Seaboard cars and relettered them, or ordered brand spanking new V&O Blue cars?

I'm thinking new cars. Although since they're hoppers, they'd probably be black.

Some of the smaller roads ordered these in their main paint color. Black works to, though.

"Prototype" V&O woodchip hoppers were black. There's a photo page 55 of the new MR book of converted 3 bay hoppers.
Now one could argue that if these cars were ordered post Appalachian Lines merger management might feel a little less conservative and more 70s flash!

Allen clearly was inspired by Appalachian coal roads, so black makes sense to me.
