Proto Design Labs?

Has anyone used Proto Design Labs internal decoders for Kato #6 or #4 n-scale Unitrack turnouts?  While looking for turnout decoders, I came across a PDL video on installing their internal turnout decoder.  It appears to be pretty straight forward: only manipulating screws, nuts, unsolder/solder two wires, inserting decoder, clipping/trimming some, testing and assigning an address.  The PDL decoders look like a decent product.

Do these work in the Kato #4 crossovers?

They make specifically sized decoders for Kato No. 4 and No. 6 turnouts - no one-size-fits-all stuff.  In fact, that is all they make besides the dwarf signals that go with the turnouts if you choost to buy them.

Thanks for the feedback.
I posted this question on another forum and was cautioned of a possible stalls/shorts if a locomotive runs against the turnout.
With that caution in mind, I'm going to try some for both #4 and #6 turnouts.
