N-Scale car info needed

Hi All!
    Someone produced a PS-2CD type of covered hopper with 4 bays and a trough hatch. The cars had ribs along the entire side. Does anyone know who made it? I wish to do D&H 12401, a wreck replacement from the NW.

The cars you are describing has never been produced in N Scale.
The closest thing I know of is AHM's "Jumbo" hopper from the 1960s.

No exact match exists but for a kitbash I would start with a Micro-Trains Evans hopper or a Scaletrains 4785. They would need 4 outlets and the side ribs replaced to better match your prototype. You could even splice a couple cars together to get the proper length.

It isn't hard to build a new roof and trough hatches for the old Roco hopper, but if you want a current quality car, it would take a lot of other work.

I still have several, as I'm more interested in running trains than building display models.  At one time these were the only non-Center Flow 100-ton covered hoppers in N scale.
