Great!  Thanks Neville!

Pete,

You're welcome.

Given that this is the first Atlas parts sale that I've ever come across, it's an offer that is simply too good to pass on.

Thanks for the heads up. Good deal on parts.  Apparently also includes the BLMA parts and trucks, at least, it gave me the discount on everything I had in the cart.

I do wish they'd stock parts for their 60' passenger cars- I have a half dozen head end car kitbashes planned that could use those carbodies.

Honestly? This disturbs me. Why? Because there was no need for a sale, their parts (IMO) were under-priced to begin with, so the only motivation I can think of for them to do this is to clear shelves which are unlikely to be restocked given the current and foreseeable import climate.

Sorry to be a Gloomy Gus/Debbie Downer. I guess I had better stock-up on GP35 shells if I ever want to see my DD35 dreams materialize.  :|

EDIT: Never mind. No shells.

I'm sure it will be a good way for them to have some quick cash flow given any import pauses due to tariffs.

My inbox has been full of model railroad sales this Memorial Day run-up. It seems like more than usual.

It is wise for any company or retailer to wrangle every penny out of in-stock or about-to-arrive product so that they have the funds needed to cover tariff taxes on the next shipment. And if a retailer or manufacturer cancelled orders due to the tariffs, that’s less product they have to sell so revenue must be found in other ways.

If I owned a hobby store I’d be planning my exit strategy. The only way for manufacturers to “eat” a
30% tax on landed costs long-term is to cut out retailers and sell direct. That 30% moves from being headroom for a retailer mark-up to a check written to the government.

We won’t see retailers survive the 30% tax.

I ordered a few parts I needed, but a lot of what I was after is not listed.  GP38/40 cabs, glazings, handrails
