While I've heard that as a reference, in my circles it's usually refers to transmission patterns where its "up and over" from 1st to 2nd.

Sizemore:  That's more-or-less the use I've seen of "dogleg": a sharp turn.

It refers to the way some dogs walk/run. Their hind legs are off to one side from their front legs so their body is at an angle while they are actually moving straight ahead.

My old friend's MGB was that way because it had been in an accident and the body had been repaired but the frame wasn't straightened. I noticed it when I was following him in my '59 Chevy, once and I told him his MG was "dog legged".

The floor was so rusty, there actually was not much floor left. He just had a piece of plywood sitting on the frame with the driver's seat thrown in on top of that, loose.

So from what ive seen in the past this sounds like the results of a bent or tweaked frame... poor casting, etc... pull the mech apart and see if its square. id run it the way it is if it isnt giving you any derailment issues. just adds charactor. if you need a frame I have about 30 here in stock

Might have to take you up on that. With the new wheelsets in, the blackening shows a distinct wear pattern suggesting the trucks are catawampus. Pulled the motor and worms and put it back in service just to see if it still crabbed without the "torque-twist" from the drive itself. Still doing it. Checked the frame, no distinct bow, hard to check the longitudinal twist. I have two other old Blue-Box E-8's I can try when I'm back in town.
