As seen in MR, as found on eBay

October 1960 Model Railroader, pg 26-27.
I own that boxcar. I bought it off ebay a few years ago, and have wondered what the C&CS is ever since.
(It needed a little attention when it showed up, so I've touched up the base color paint, replaced the couplers with 705's, and gave it a little weathering to blend with the rest of my fleet.)

How you even make the connection? I simply refuse to accept you were thumbing through an ancient copy of MR and happened to see that boxcar in a small photo.

To be honest, that's pretty much exactly what happened. I've been flipping through hundreds of MR's recently with the intent to tear out (and 3-ring binder) any article relevant to my interests, and I'm purging the remainder. This just jumped out at me as I passed the page.

Okay, I'll believe you, but I'm sure you understand that I never would have thought that was the case before you posted this. Talk about a coincidence!

Pretty cool to find something that was in one of the magazines. You definitely gotta keep your eyes and ears open at auctions and flea markets.

You need to frame that page!!

Maybe do a shadow box with the car and the article..)
It turns out you can get black confetti in the shape of d'cks...
