Hey folks! Starting a thread here as I am embarking on my journey of modeling Hopewell in N scale on a series of T-Trak modules, circa the late 60s/early 70s! I plan on modeling from the depot to Bry Dain Lumber, including the Beacon branch, a representative siding for Bry Dain, and the Route 82 overpass. I also plan on representing some of the warehouses/storage between the Depot and the Beacon branch. Here is an early pass at a track plan, which I do plan on tweaking. This plan shows 3 double modules, I plan on adding a single module to the Bry Dain end to allow the switch to come off the main sooner, but otherwise this is a fairly good representation of what I want to do.



I have also been working on a model of the Depot for a while now, and am finally nearing completion on it (as folks who took a look at the model table at this past weekend's NHRHTA convention may have noticed). I'm excited to bring this project to life, and will try to remember to keep folks here up to date on progress!

Cool, looking forward to seeing your progress on this.  I have good memories of watching Conrail switch out cars at the lumber yard and passing through town on their way down the Beacon branch in the late 80s/early 90s.  Too bad the Beacon branch isn't used any more.

I look forward to your progress. My mom still lives in Hopewell and I am up there a couple times a year. I have studied the history of railroading in the area and if I wasn’t sold on Southern in the 70s it would be Hopewell in the late 20s.

Howdy folks! Been a while since I got on the forum, and not a ton of progress has been made, but all the modules for Hopewell are now assembled! From foreground to background (or right to left on the second image) the modules will be: The Hopewell Depot (And the last house along Depot Road), a couple of representative warehouses and the Beacon Branch with the Route 82 road bridge at the end of the module, the Bry Dain Lumber Company with a pair of sidings to add some operability to the modules, and a single on the end to bring the Bry Dain siding off the main. If anyone has any photos of Bry Dain in the 60s-80s, I'd love to have them! Progress should progress more quickly now that the modules themselves are done. My first Hopewell Junction module is nearly complete! I just need to weather the track and build a big wire tree to go to the left of the depot, and it'll be done. Next up (tonight) - building the road overpass by bashing a Walthers plate girder bridge kit and scenicing the Beacon Branch/Route 82 module.

Once that is done, I just need to mock up one more building for the Bry Dain Lumber Company and paint some 3d printed lumber for the lumber yard before scenery can really get going on those modules.
