Having seen the WAG in 1974, you have a) way too much good ballast  b) Let the grass grow through the roadbed for realism.

You about needed a metal detector to find that railroad.   I had a pocket list of Railroad Officials with me as a teenager when I was visiting it, and remember thinking I wouldn't want my name in it as Track Supervisor, too embarrassing.

I agree, Randy!  But this bit will be the PC route through the Grand Canyon of PA.  I’m doing this line with more scale-looking Aristocraft track on stone ballast, while the WAG will use rougher-looking LGB track on… we’ll say mixed ballast.  Including plenty of the scene you shared!

When I visited the WAG in '74 the train was 'out', but the shops were open.   There was an ex-WP F-unit in the shops, walked in to look around.   Heard loud snoring coming out of the cab, climbed up the fireman side ladder to peek in as the cab door was open.  A 'workman' was sound asleep on the floor....nobody else in the place.   Next day I went to Ansonia figuring there had to be something out at the  PC interchange, I literally had to walk around and tripped over the WAG track before I found it in the weeds.  Nothing but a PC junction sign there.   The ex C&PA wedge plow was in the yards rotting away, that one is now restored lovingly and display in the museum at Strasburg.   The surviving WAG GE-125 tonner is up at the Lake Shore Railway Museum.   The Wellsboro Jct. ex-NYC depot had been freshly spray-painted PC jade green only on the visible sides facing the road, right over all the windows, grass, and adjacent weeds.   PC wasn't much better than the WAG!
