I have an Artograph 1520 spray booth. It has a 3 piece filter system, and a carboard hood, all intended to be consumable (replaceable) parts. I really like it, but Artograph discontinued their spray booth line and no longer offers the filters or hood. I've been hoarding supplies as I find them on eBay or whatever, but prices are often crazey and I'm trying to figure out replacements.
The filter system has three layers. The bottom layer is some kind of black polycarbonate pad. The middle is roughly like a furnace filter, and the top is a thin sheet of fabric that resembles interfacing (if you know someone who sews).
I've replaced the middle layer with actual furnace filters - that works really well. I might try interfacing for the top layer, but I've no clue what to replace the bottom polycarbonate pad with. I'm looking for suggestions for both that pad and for the fabric layer.
Also, anyone know of a supplier that might have one an old metal replacement hood? Artograph once offered those.
