Not to dig up an old thread, but has there been any news?

I emailed Peter, his normal response time was less than 48 hours. It’s been 2 weeks and I haven’t heard back. I suspect something has happened with him. I’m trying his other email now.

I checked - looks like it’s dead.

Hate to see these kits go.

A couple observations, because, well, I can.

The WHOIS domain record is not only still valid, it was just accessed and renewed in April, which is interesting.  Doesn't expire until Feb 2026.

If you try to access the web page, I literally get a screen now (was blank earlier) but it looks like a domain seize, says has expired.  Anybody know how that happens?  Is it the ISP grabbing it for resale here or what?  Says has not been renewed but it has.   I suspect that's a hold that GoDaddy action put on it

Tried the last email and it came back with "The recipient server did not accept our requests to connect." which is odd.

But yeah.... that's included in the collection of tooling and stuff that somebody should pick up.   Alan Curtis and I did the design on the little log cars for eastern logging (cast pewter), I've got a big collection of them, but if you're doing eastern logging in N, that's the only accurate car out there and it was a well-done casting, better than Quality Craft's attempt.

A friend of mine was able to contact Alan Curtis (previous owner and founder of N Scale Kits). Alan was able to get in contact with Peter via his government email (Peter is a councillor). This is what Peter said:

Tim, just had a reply from Peter Harris. The nscale kits website was hacked and he has no access to any of the domains, including emails. He hopes to get them back later in the year. Kits are still going to be available.
Cheers, Alan

My firefox browser and one or another of the add-ons flagged the web address as hacked as well.

Firefox detected a potential security threat and did not continue to nscalekits.co.uk. If you visit this site, attackers could try to steal information like your passwords, emails, or credit card details.

What can you do about it?

The issue is most likely with the website, and there is nothing you can do to resolve it. You can notify the website’s administrator about the problem.

Wow!  Peter at N scale Kit doesn't  seem to catch a break. And all of this adds to the bad publicity he has been getting for some time now.  :(

I'm just glad to know he's still with us, apparently alive and well.  And now we can put a lid on speculation.  I'll have to place an order for a couple flatcars when he gets up and running again.

I know Pete is almost always at the NSE conventions. So I'll should see him a few weeks, here in Kansas City.
I will direct him to this thread and let him respond, if he doesn't do it before that.

I placed an order on February 10 but got no confirmation. After 3 weeks, I sent him a direct email, but no response. On April 30, after hearing nothing, I got PayPal to refund my money. Maybe he'll be at the NSE in Kansas City and we can do business face to face.

I had the opportunity to talk to a mutual friend at the weekend and he was / or still is in hospital, other than that I did not push any further.
