Since the start of the pandemic, I have gone though my fleet of cars and pulling the "stand-ins" from the roster and and started repainting them to more prototypical schemes. For example, I had several MDC FMC plug door boxcars that were stand ins for Conrail X58s. These have been struck from the roster and repainted to something more appropriate like MDW, ATSF and Golden West.
My next fleet up for repainting is the group of MDC 57' reefers that were painted in FGE's Solid Cold scheme. "Solid Cold" was only used on FGE built reefers and the MDC PFC car is nothing like it. Since Athearn has FGE cars, the MDC cars have to go.
Interestingly enough, FGE DID have PCF cars but the logo was "REAL COLD". In fact, several of the MDC cars were painted in the "REAL COLD" number series but painted incorrectly.
So these PCF cars need to be repainted to BNFE, SPFE and UPFE, but I am having trouble finding correct decals for these schemes. Any ideas?
