Glue choice suggestions?

I just bought an Athearn caboose.  (Im a sucker for GN Cabeese.)  The cab didn't come with end ladders.  I want to modify the caboose with Micro Trains end railings and ladders.  What glue is suggested to attach the MT part (slippery plastic) to the caboose (polystyrene)?  I know some trimming will be needed.

I think CA and an accelerator should work.

Does CA really work with the slippery plastic?  That was my first thought but I'm not sure that will work.  Have you tried that?

I know of no glue which will produce a very strong bond to Delrin (or POM as it is called).  CA (and accelerator) should work ok, if you first roughen up the glued surfaces.  Sanding is preferred (400 grit sandpaper should do the trick).  I prefer to also add some sort of mechanical connection. If feasible I pin the dissimilar materials using a thin brass rod (then flood everything with CA).

What about the UV glue?

What about the UV glue?

You mean Bondic ( https://notaglue.com/ )?  :)
That stuff doesn't stick well to any smooth plastic surface.   It does adhere better to rough surfaces, but not all that well either).  But it makes great headlight lenses.

I used Bondic to repair Micro Trains tank car ladders two years ago and they are still holding up.

I think we all have different ideas for  what we consider a "good" glue joint.  :)

Because you have mismatching materials (Delrin and polystyrene), that usually lends itself to CA being the preferred choice.  I suggest following Pete’s recommendations for using mechanical connections to reinforce the glue joint.

Yeah, I would definitely roughen the Delrin side if possible.

Isn't there a black superglue that works on Delrin?

As mentioned several times above, lightly sanding the surfaces will give them tooth so the adhesive has better chance of bonding the two items...adding a small wire pin (if possible on the ladders or end railing) will definitely help keep things in place and act as a mechanical backup to the glue bond

“Here is a link to Loctite with their suggestions for how to work with Delrin
See sheets 12-13 of their bonding plastics adhesives guide”

-----------------------------------------------------
“The Loctite data sheets in the link show that the use of a primer followed by Loctite 411 cyanoacrylate will give a satisfactory bond on acetal (Delrin).”

That link didn't seem to work.
This one did: http://dm.henkel-dam.com/is/content/henkel/LT-2197_Plastic%20Guide_v6%20LRpdf
