One nicety with the new C-420 is that Atlas actually redesigned the headlight shroud to work with the new ESU PC board (as opposed to simply recycling the old shroud; a practice which has led to lighting issues on some of their other loco re-designs of recent vintage) -

Eagerly awaiting 2 x new sound C420's. Interesting that they are also painting the lower part of the frame.

Actually, it's the top half of frame that's painted. (on L&HR unit I got.)

Yes, Mark, several subtle changes. Oh, the wires that go into frame are attached to a crimp connector that looks like it was meant to fit a small pin.
 No pin in frame that I saw, but wire/connector will come out of frame with a needle nose pliers. Just a tug will do.

Joe. Ah ok.. Per your pic, looks like the bottom 1/2 is painted grey and the top 1/2 is raw. Thanks for the update
