Interesting article on the Digikey with respect to model railroading, as I was reading it I thouhgt @peteski may have written it  :D :

https://www.digikey.com/en/blog/the-evolution-of-model-railroading-as-proxy-for-the-electronics-industry?fbclid=IwAR1qUHKOfZ4bcY7vFB0MohIHMqaAivKu4zVQuGbIMM_BJ247Wd92_Yxi0n4

The links at the bottom are interesting too- surprised there are no TRW thread pages linked there.

I wonder if the author is on any of the forums.  Haven't read the article yet (will later on when I have time) but just his bio.

Nice find John, and a good comment!

Good to see a large-scale electronic parts distributor showing interest in a niche segment of business, like model railroading, or electronic hobbyists.  Digikey has always been hobbyists-friendly (although back in the '80s they used to have $25 minimum order requirement). Not anymore.

I wonder if the author is a model railroader (the bio doesn't mention that)?  If he isn't, then he sure is up to speed in model RR electronics.
