Out of curiosity, how did you program your FL12? I just installed one in a Metra cab car, and I'm at a loss on how to set it up.

if you set it to the same address as the engine, it will work as a directional light.

Additionally, some command station needs to "see" a motor on the programming track before it sends the packets.  So if you place just the car with the FL12 on the programming track it may not program.

What you can do is put the loco and the car with the FL12 on the programming at the same time.  Program both to the same address as greenwizard88 said.

If you know someone that has a BLI address programmer, you can use that directly with the FL12 car.

Thanks for the tips, I'll have to try that when I get home again. Like was said, the directions from Kato are, for lack of a better term, less than helpful for programming.
