edit, and now that I post late at night I notice the giant screws poking through the floor.
(MK if you see this post, its a pain in the a$$ more than you thought at the warehouse sale since it had a pre-made molded in pocket for an Accumate body mount.) And most importantly showed my club the magic that is a static grass applicator and how they could make a pretty good piece of field in 5 minutes.
Close, it was a French minesweeper.
I joined the FB group Dead Season Modelers started by Ed. Clear cutting starts after my daughters 30+ b-day dinner tonight. I figure this 2’ x 8’ scene is a good place to start and if I don’t like it I can try it again. I have roughly 100 wire tree armatures that are rubber molded, painted and were awaiting the tac-it for the greenery. So, I have a decent head start. The hills on the backdrop are going to be painted out. Tom Johnson on the MRH forum showed a full cloud covered backdrop, I may try it on this wall.
I have used M1x5 flat head screws to mount Micro-Trains couplers to Airslide and covered hoppers. The screw is long enough to 'bite' into the body of the car but not so long that it protrudes. I have also reamed out the hole of the MT coupler with an X-acto blade to allow the screw to sit deeper.
Luckily I found the railing detail pops out so I just nipped the little 00-90 screw with my cable tie cutters.
