Fast Tracks had a post on their Facebook page saying they just got new stock of ME rail.  That the die for the rail had broken a few months ago and production had just gotten going again.  So perhaps ME ran out of stock of everything.  Note that ModelTrainStuff only has a few ME items in stock - flex was out of stock for a while - I had been checking.

Vendor at Richmond, VA Greenburg show had several LH and RH on his pegboard today. :(

There was never much to begin with..all they make is a #6. Why after all these years they haven't bothered to make other kinds of turnouts, especially when they have so many different varieties of Code 55 flextrack, is beyond me.

Cost to tool their one turnout was killer. I imagine they just don't have the resources to do another.

A long time ago (decade or more) they had a #8. Unfortunately, the mold broke and that's when "we can't justify replacing it, new tooling is too costly" became public knowledge, as David said.

... I imagine they just don't have the resources to do another.

Though a few years ago now, "resources" was not helped by their office manager embezzling over $200,000 to feed her gambling habit. If you want an illustration of the cost of "riverboats" and the tax-revenue darling of easy access to "gaming", ME is, sadly, a poster child. :(  Given the thin margins of hobby manufacturing we should count our blessings they survived the hit.

I've got two C55 #8's on the workbench right now, and two C40 #6's to fix a 15 year old problem on the east end of Park City Yard will be next, their templates are finished.  Very nice to just not have to worry about RTR turnout availability at all.     8)

Cheerio!

I need ONE Code 40 RH #6 turnout for my industries. How much would you charge if you made one for me?

ME is basically a mom & pop company - they don't have a lot of capacity to produce. A lot of their product in N and HO comes in and out of availability.

Probably best to give them a call as to when the next batch will be made.
