Brand new N scale item from Walthers! Must be Christmas!

I just received a Walthers flyer in the mail and guess what is featured on the cover?  Yes, on the cover! A brand new N scale bridge! And you can have it for just 50 bucks (without piers)! Amazing!

That just shows that Walthers has not abandoned or forgotten about N scale.  :D

I remember them announcing that once back at Trainfest. Now if only they would do the Ethanol Series of buildings in N.... that would be something I could use.

But does the N scale version of the bridge have the same level of detail as the HO version? If not, it just proves Walthers has a malicious bias against N scale.

A bridge to nowhere? Certainly not to an ethanol plant.

For one thing the HO version has the column lacing bars and here's one on eBay for $38

Yup. https://www.therailwire.net/forum/index.php?topic=45780.msg593891#msg593891

These are the other two items announced with the bridge:

Yes, they are really part of the same project, but sold separately. You really need the abutment to use the bridge.  This of course adds to the price of your bridge project. Unless you make your own abutments.

Peteski, surely any modeller worthy of the title could/would build in their own for minimal costs.
Though I don't believe 'cost' enters into much of the relative discussions spent here.

Maybe you didn't notice that I started this thread with my tongue in cheek.

It seems that everybody bitches out Walthers for not embracing N scale and if they do, for having outrageous prices.  So I thought I would poke some fun at that.

The price after a normal discount seemed pretty fair to me.

I'll agree that having the abutments as separate items isn't a bad idea.  If I was to use the bridge it would probably have deck spans at one or both ends, so would need custom piers anyway.
