I purchased a NS loco, really runs and sounds great. Kind of a tossup IMO between ESU and the BLI sound decoders. I really like the way the BLI decoder notches up the prime mover under heavy load and decreases it under light load.

Doesn't the ESU do that too?

My BLI SD40-2 can only handle about 24 assorted 50' freight cars through curves on level track, whereas my Kato and Intermountain SD40-2's can handle about 30 such cars.
