I have managed to scare up a 100-pack of the Fox Valley MTL wheelsets (and Atlas code 55 turnouts when there were none to be had), in the past by using a strictly old-school approach. Use the internet to find hobby shops that have NO web presence, and just start phoning them up. It works. Shops like that will have things languishing on their shelves that the world doesn't find because they aren't on the internet.
So if you are desperate for some FVM wheels, give it a go. All you've got to lose is a few hours collecting shops and phone numbers and making the calls.
"WARNING THREAD DRIFT ALERT SYSTEM"
OMG Max, you just scared up some fond memories, an you are part of it.
Early 2000, beginnings of me web experience. Before there was ANY web inventory/ordering capability (except for N Scale Supply, but still phone), I came across the Atlas Forum, and your kitbashes, along with Dave Vollmer's Juniata and decided to go on a Minitrix K4 spree. I think I collected twenty of them and B6 models before I discovered eBay. Still own many of them and some became my own kitbashes of their own limited fame.
Ok Feeling old now.
