WTF RR crossing protection

Without knowing more detail or access to the signal circuit plans I would guess something with the overhead electric rail line was causing some induction issues with the crossing below.  Is the below crossing (that was activated) a mainline, an industrial lead, or?

Richie, in no way would those 2 tracks be interconnected judging by the elevation differences and the fact that the upper is catenary and the lower clearly is not.

if the lower crossing uses a ring-10 style track circuit, as it looks like and industry track instead of main line, id agree that its getting some kind of AC interference. most industry tracks get a solid state track circuit vs the normal AC overlay due to not needing to look 2-3000 ft down the track for trains moving at higher speeds. also, industry tracks are usually low speed so the need for long approaches are not needed.

Where’s the crossing below?  Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t see any track between the gates.  It’s almost as if the gates are to protect cars from passing under the bridge while a train is overhead.

If that is the same crossing, what is the time difference between the two recordings? Where has the red brick building gone? If filmed with the redbrick building behind the person using the camera then the tracks would be under the pickup ...... correct?? The road structure is also different, look at the curbing, and if I am not mistaken one is a two way road and the other is a one way street.

Is this a test, like spot the difference found in magazines?

Got it!  Thanks, Chris.  That track was invisible in the original video posted, not to mention that the cameraman in that video can't seem to hold still.

On the map it looks like the lower track is just a stub with a switch to a newspaper plant.
