A number of times from various Japan based e-tailers. Came DHL/USPS. Never got charged duty but it wasn't really expensive stuff.

I’ve purchased a couple of sets and parts from Japan on EBay with zero issues. Shipping time is usually 1-3 weeks so a little patience is good.  Don’t be too scared of estimated shipping times, almost everything i’ve purchased arrived in advance of the estimated date.

I've ordered from Plaza and individual sellers. Never experienced an issue.  I ordered N scale Fire Engine kits for loads, and received them in four days. China, that's another story all together.
