I'm sure there's a rationale explanation, or not, but my first thought was that of WTF?

Yea, I went and found that too before I posted the pic, but it's just an odd solution. They call it a lounge, but imagine being couped up in there and entire shift, not to mention the train doesn't meet any semis at a crossing..

Natural-gas experiment?  I bet they fed beans to the extra crew and then used the natural-gas captured in the "lounge" to power the engine.  :D

If it was only a lounge, why did they need the windshield wipers on the front "windshield"?  Weird.
