                 :|I have issues with the KATO City of Los Angeles set. They could have done the City of Portland by doing a new tail sign on the Observation car, yes it is nice that there will be new car names and numbers. Now for the E-9 locomotives. It is neat to see the final paint scheme found on UP E Units being offered, the large Union Pacific on the nose, gray rear ends, a single headlight found on most E9'S and the E9 ID plaque on the cab sides. To be correct for the era of this scheme the Dome Lounge car should be converted for Mid Train use, the locomotives would have extra FRA mandated grabs on one side of the nose (KATO will I' am sure not model this). Also the roof top homemade snow shields done as a 3D print part on their excursion locomotive would have been in place. It is nice to see that these locomotives will be available with decoders if desired. UP Semi- Rivet Counter Nate Goodman.

seems like somebody could fab up "City of Portland" signs either making their own or just relettering the stock KATO part -- it's available separately. However that train also needs a diner-lunch car that isn't in the KATO model lineup.
There's also be more of the correct gray trucks for replacing the wrong ones on the UP coaches. They've be OOS for a while. Get 'em while you can!

I'll definately pick up both sets of Maxi IVs. It's been a few years since the last release.

Hopefully this will include couplers in the parts department. I've had 2 sets with broken couplers just waiting for the parts to be restocked for several years.

                         :|KATO Union Pacific E9 diesel. UP's first smaller batch of E9's had two headlights and no E9 identifier plaque on the cab sides. My model is an E9 look at the Farr Air Side Grills. By the time the roof top beacon was added the to the cab top, the horns should have really been relocated farther back on the carbody. I did not take the time to add the extra nose grabs on one side of the nose. The snow shields were metal cast items from the old Hobbies Emporium. Nate Goodman (Nato).
