February 2018 Weathered/Graffiti releases from Micro Trains

4 new releases from Micro Trains this month, including a car that I was working on myself.

https://www.micro-trains.com/index.php?_route_=n-scale/weathered

I had decals printed for a series of FMLX cars as they get delivered to the Gettysburg & Northern, including 51401.  I was at a standstill because I couldn't get a good drawing of George.  Now I don't have to finish it.  Thanks @Shipsure

Here is where my project will end...

Looks like the MT version needs a little more orange paint.

MT is just doing the car at a later time :D  The paint faded away after some time.  I have a photo that was sent to me in 2010, taken years before that has a "16" to the left of George.  On MT's car, you can't make out a number, just that something was over there.

Here is the photo that MT is using, taken in 2008

MTL did the same to me. I designed and printed out the AWARE 4-4-0 American loco graffiti decal for a 2-bay SP hopper and they produced that car before I finished mine!  :|

Anyone see the Marry Me car?
I feel like if I got that one my girlfriend may take it literally...  :scared:

Also I may have to get the FMLX car to go with it because I'd probably end up saying FML...

That Chessie hopper looks like a bunch of the ones I've seen on the coast these last two years.

I'm still trying to figure out how that RBOX is Mardi Gras related.. I understood the January one with New Years resolutions and weight lifting/gym.

Have these or the regular releases for February shown up on the MBK website (wrecked portal that it is at the moment) yet?

Hoping to get a couple of these cars. The CSXT Hopper will save me a weathering job as I actually have a photo of it I planned to use to weather a decorated hopper.

They showed up at my LHS on Saturday.  I picked them up yesterday.  I don't think any of this months MT cars made it to MBK site yet.

Not sure about anybody's personal preference when shopping, but when I want something or the newest item I go first to BLW, then MBK, then Walthers, then other on-line retailers. With the way RR items pop up in limited numbers of specific cars and locos with specific numbers of specific railroads, I want to maximize my chances of getting one before they're all gone. Mfr's websites usually are picked bare soon after an item is put up.
So I suggest if your usual dealer's supply is out, quickly head on to another one to satisfy your need. Wait, that doesn't sound right ...

I was surprised when I saw them posted so soon.  They usually get posted around the 10th of the month.

I've never met a covered hopper I didn't like.... :)

Remember Chuck at Feather River Trains.  He usually gets Micro Trains before everybody else since he’s on the West Coast, ships fast, and and his prices are in line with current online pricing.

MT graffiti cars are about all I buy these days, to help grunge up my 2000 era layout.  And, MBK is my normal supplier, since my LHS doesn't seem to want to carry those items (despite still ordering for stock nearly every other MT item, as they have for years.....think they may need to check their calendars, LOL)

Loved these from the pics, and saw they were "sold out at factory" on the MT site, so I bailed on MBK and bought from a seller on EBay who was the first dealer I saw had them.  Hard to admit I'm not addicted to, or at least OCD about N scale trains after that.

BTW, they came yesterday, and they look better in person than in the photos.  Every so often, I get buyers remorse, but not in this case.  They are gorgeous in an ugly sort of way. ;)
