Replacement motor from Atlas? HA! I ordered one for the pesky C420 I have, and the motor sent was tighter than a snail in a shell. $39 to boot. Sent it back, they should have it Monday, the 22nd.

I have replaced 35+ Kato motors with the Atlas scale speed motor, most of them purchased from ebay. I test everyone before installing them with a bench top power supply, usually let them run for 5 - 10 minutes. I received a couple that were tight, all I did was apply a little side to side pressure on the flywheel, but not enough to bend the shaft. Oil the bearings and run it for about 30 minutes. I never apply any force between the flywheel and motor, doing so can move the commutator and ruin the motor. Don't ask me how I know this! Never found one that wouldn't loosen up and run great.
