I've got an AC4400 shell that no longer snaps tightly into the little knob on the frame and rides up a little .. this makes the coupler ride high .. any thoughts on how to rig this up?

I have used a little bit of tape on the nubs on a couple frames and that seems to snug them up a little bit...
But it may or may not work for you...

How about a couple small dabs of silicon applied with a toothpick? It would hold decent and take some vibration. Plus you can still get the shell of at a later time if need be.

No .. what happens is that there are little dimples on the frame, and they fit into small depressions molded into the side of the shell .. after a while this depression in the shell wears some, and it no longer tightly holds the shell down ..

I put some plastic tape into the shell, and it seems to work

That's what I've done. I first tried regular electrical tape; it was too thick and caused the shell to bulge. The 3M plastic tape for repairs or whatever is thinner and seems to do the job.

Can you loosen the screws and nut assembly that holds the frame together just a quarter turn?. It's possible these may have been adjusted too tight after re-assembly.

Hope this helps....
