I'm having this problem too. Site never completely loads until my 3rd or 4th attempt. No trouble elsewhere.

Hi Tom:

Not sure how to determine that; can't seem to bring up anything stating the version.  I can tell you that I loaded it in late December so it would have been current at that time, and I suspect that it updates itself regularly.  I am afraid that is all I know.

I'm on Firefox 51.0.1 and having these loading problems as well.
It seems that lots of different stuff is being loaded, eg. googleads any many other scripts.
The browser's status bar says 'Waiting for whatever'.

I'm not sure but I think it has nothing to do with the ads. It appeared when the site was switched to https.
Some elements are being loaded via http and this is causing a security issue. http content will not be displayed on https sites.

I have not had any particular issues with this but thought I would check it out after reading this thread.

Using Firefox ESR as provided on Debian Linux. I have tried with my add blocker (ublock origin) both enabled and disabled. The difference in page loading I see when turning it om or off  is consistently noticeable, but minimal. About one second. Oh and I use noscript. I have it set to only block doubleclick when I am on this site. What happens with the add blocker turned off is the pages load pretty fast to start with, but the adds take up to a second or so to load. That is all.

I'm wondering if the people who are seeing this as more of a problem have slower internet connections.
I also have some other network stuff running in the background that is hogging up a good chunk of my bandwidth. When I turn that off, or turn it down to use less bandwidth, the above mentioned one second delay on this site gets to be even less.

The only thing that is loaded via http are other people's images.  Unless I missed something, everything RW specific is loaded via https.

The ads are set to load asynchronously, so they only marginally affect page load. Sometimes, they do take some time to load, but I've never seen this interrupt page loads.

Again, thanks to all who whitelist RW in your ad blocker.

Great I've been tweaking things with some of the slower loading ads.

This has been a thing ever since the switch to SSL; anything that comes in not SSL doesn't load.

John:  I noticed quite a few images in Weekend Update that didn't load for me, no error box or placeholder, just a blank space.  Your explanation sounds better than most I've heard.

I think some of you have a high security setting in Firefox that doesn't work well with mixed protocol (http+https).
